Republicans Can't Trust Erin Stewart
ERIN STEWART IS ANTI PRESIDENT TRUMP
“I’ve been pretty outspoken about not supporting Trump and about not supporting or being in favor of a lot of what he’s done and his approach”[1]
QUIETLY BILKING THE CONNECTICUT TAXPAYER
Under Stewart as mayor, New Britain was a quagmire for taxpayers, sucking up the fourth largest per capita state aid of any city or town, more than Bridgeport.[2] In 2023 alone, Connecticut taxpayers sent New Britain $130 million, more than double what the state took-in from the city.[3]
TURNING A BLIND EYE TO CORRUPTION
As a member of the Board of Regents, charged with overseeing Connecticut’s state colleges and universities, Stewart did nothing as corruption piled up with lavish steak dinners and pricey liquor being billed to the taxpayers.[4]
IGNORING A RISE IN VIOLENT CRIME
Violent crime climbed 21% after Stewart took office, but she refused to act as crimes like rape and aggravated assault increased.[5]
SAYING NOTHING WHILE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS CASHED IN
On the Board of Regents, Stewart said nothing as administrators funneled grants, internships, and jobs to illegal immigrants instead of Connecticut students.[6]
